Summary: Kamal Quadir is among the most accomplished founders in Bangladesh. He started Cellbazaar in 2005 a pioneering ecommerce marketplace which reached 4 Million subscribers and was sold to the Norwegian telecommunications operator Telenor.

He founded bKash in 2010 which arguably is the most successful startup in Bangladesh with a valuation of around ~2bn in its last funding round. bKash reported 65mn users, 340k agents, and a revenue base of BDT 39bn as of 2022.

This fireside chat aims to learn from his experience as a prolific entrepreneur in areas of idea generation, fundraising, scaling up and product development.

UNDP Youth Co:Lab Final Pitching

Summary:  Co-led by UNDP and Citi Foundation, Youth Co:Lab invests in young people across 28 countries and territories in Asia and the Pacific so they can achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through leadership, social innovation and entrepreneurship. 

 

Since 2018, Youth Co:Lab has been working closely with the government of Bangladesh  and key local ecosystem partners to incubate youth-led social enterprises and SDG-focused startups, build capacity of Entrepreneurship Support Organisations, as well as influence inclusive entrepreneurship policy formulation.
